There are many ways to meet the English proficiency requirement for admission to Cal Poly Humboldt.

Scores must be received within two years of applying to Humboldt, and sent directly from the testing organization.

You do not need to send your English Proficiency scores if:

  • You have completed a general education English composition course at a community college or university with a C or higher; OR
  • You have graduated from a four-year U.S. high school and have completed three years of English courses with a grade of "B" or higher.

If your native language is English and/or the majority of your education has been in English, or if the official language of your country is English, you may be exempt from the English Proficiency requirement. Please inquire at the time of application.
