We are excited to invite you to a special connection event co-hosted by OLLI at Humboldt and the Cal Poly Humboldt Library! This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate lifelong learning, community, and interactive exploration.
Come enjoy an afternoon filled with hands-on attractions at the library. There will be refreshments, presentations by library and technology staff, and plenty of opportunities to connect with OLLI community members, instructors, volunteers, committee members, staff, prospective members, and library staff.
Event highlights and library attractions guided by staff:
- Get clarity about OLLI benefits at the Library: Learn about the exclusive resources and opportunities available to OLLI members.
- Renew your OLLI membership: Cashiers will be on site to renew your membership, if needed, and for your friend to sign up to help us meet our membership goals!
- Explore the Special Collections & Archives: This area holds resources on a wide variety of topics from indigenous tribes local to the area, primary industries of Northwest California and the history of Cal Poly Humboldt.
- Scholars Lab: One of many spaces in the library where collaboration flourishes. The event reception area will be in this space.
- OLLI Basic Digital Safety: Gain insights from tech support on the safety and functions of your online account.
- Try the Flight Simulator: Experience the thrill of flying in a virtual environment.
- 3D Herbarium: Explore botanical specimens in a new dimension.
- Anatomage Table: Engage in interactive anatomy displays with this digital dissection table.
- Augmented Reality Sandbox: Allows users to create topography models by shaping real sand, which is then augmented in real time by an elevation color map, topographic contour lines, and simulated water.
- Other Display Stations: Enjoy other exciting experiences throughout the library such as the Author's Hall, The Press, and more.
- L4 Programs: Discover additional lifelong learning programs offered by the Library.
Free parking in any General campus parking lot. RSVP to receive parking code.
