Guy Rocourt will share his extensive experience of over 25 years in the cannabis industry, beginning with advocacy, then navigating the traditional market and California's Proposition 215 framework. He will discuss how he developed a vape pen formulation, which enabled him to secure investment dollars and start his first compliant company in Colorado.

After meeting his partner at Papa and Barkley, he had an epiphany that cannabis was fundamentally about natural medicine, and that the sophisticated refining equipment -- previously unavailable during prohibition -- was unnecessary.

Guy Rocourt will also describe his time at Papa and Barkley -- as they navigated California's emerging compliant market, transitioning from a robust traditional market. He will conclude with his insights on the 2023 crash of the cannabis market, and his vision for the future as the industry continues to stabilize and grow.

Guy Rocourt is a 25-year veteran of the cannabis industry. He is the founder of GR Consulting and the co-founder and CEO of Papa & Barkley, a leading California cannabis wellness company. Guy also founded one of the first compliant companies in Colorado in 2012. Previously, Guy designed and built manufactured infused products facilities (MIPs) in multiple states, making him an expert in cannabis science, technology, strategy, and production. He also has experience caring for patients with cannabis, as he spent many years as Montel Williams’ caregiver during his battle with MS. Guy graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a U.S. Navy veteran. He uses his keen understanding of the cannabis plant, cannabis culture, and business acumen to craft a variety of wellness products.
