Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Ryan Archambault, Humboldt Cactus Co

Monday, February 6, 2023 - 12:00pm

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Ryan Archambault, Humboldt Cactus Co: Learn the history of cacti; what makes a cactus a cactus; how to take care of them (propagation, repotting, grafting); the different types of cacti and their habitats; their technique of photosynthesizing; poaching; common problems; and soil types.

Ryan Archambault grew up in Los Angeles, where he fell in love with cacti at a young age, while gardening with his mother. Ryan attended California Institute of the Arts, where he graduated with a bachelor's in fine art, but is completely self-taught in botany.

Humboldt Cactus Co was created by Ryan Archambault not only as a storefront, but as a space to learn and see plants that are uncommon in plant stores. He wanted a space that harbored human and plant relationships.
