Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Lori Dengler

Monday, October 9, 2023 - 12:00pm

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Lori Dengler: Humboldt County and the adjacent offshore area is the most seismically active area of the lower 48 states. With seven different sources of earthquakes, the next one could be sooner than expected. Understanding what could happen is the first step to preparing your family, your workplace, and community. North Coast residents and community members need to take the initiative to practice conscious preparedness to reduce losses and bounce back quickly.

Lori Dengler is an emeritus professor of geology at Cal Poly Humboldt and an expert in tsunami and earthquake hazards. Since retiring in 2015, she continues to work on earthquake and tsunami preparedness efforts on the North Coast through the Redwood Coast Tsunami Work Group and nationally as a member of NOAA’s Tsunami Science Technical Advisory Panel.
