As we all come to terms with the recent events on campus, it is important to recognize the emotional impact they have taken on us, individually and collectively. We want to acknowledge that this has been an extremely challenging week for Cal Poly Humboldt. We are hurting within our campus community and beyond, and we have much work in front of us to reset, rebuild, and heal. This will take time. We will do this together.

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Susan Ryan: Life Plan Humboldt invites you to join Susan Ryan of The Center for Innovation, which combines The Green House Project and Pioneer Network, for an in-depth discussion of holistic dementia care that honors individuals’ humanity and empowers caregivers to provide the best life possible for all elders. Too often, care for people living with dementia overlooks the word “people,” and focuses more on controlling and minimizing certain behaviors. A more holistic approach acknowledges that no matter a person’s cognitive abilities, they remain a human with needs, wants, hopes, and ideas.

Susan Ryan serves as CEO of the Center for Innovation, the non-profit parent of The Green House Project and Pioneer Network, leading the organization on its mission to fundamentally transform eldercare in America and around the world. As a member of the Green House team since 2008, Ryan has become an internationally recognized leader in long-term care reform. Including a particular focus on the organization’s vision for small-home eldercare campuses that provide person-directed alternatives to traditional nursing homes.

CFI is the home for eldercare transformation in all settings and for all elders, regardless of where they call home, combining the power of The Green House and Pioneer brands to create solutions in person-directed living.
