Future Telling and Planning in Arcata

David Loya

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with David Loya, Director of Community Development, City of Arcata

Monday, March 28, 2022 - 12:00pm

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with David Loya, Director of Community Development, City of Arcata: The City of Arcata had a bold vision for the future in 2000. This vision was embodied in the General Plan 2020. The future is now! And we now need to plan for the next 20-year vision for our community. The City is engaged in planning for growth and development that honors the community values of agricultural, environmental, and forest preservation; sustainability; social and environmental justice; racial equity; vibrancy in the arts, the economy, and our shared community spaces; and a commitment to a high quality of life for all who live, work, and play in Arcata. This work is the framework for how Arcata grows on its own terms through 2045.
