Information Regarding Campus Soft Opening and Transition Timeline to Normal Operations

The University will begin a soft opening of campus on Monday, May 13, with the intention of transitioning to an open campus for the start of the summer session on Tuesday, May 28.

Dr Sarah Jaquette Ray will discuss her new book, out on Earth Day this year, titled A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: How to Keep Your Cool on a Warming Planet, which outlines an "existential toolkit" for the climate generation. She will also talk about the implications of these tools for dealing with coronavirus anxiety.

Sarah Jaquette Ray is a professor of environmental studies at Humboldt, where she also leads the environmental studies BA program. She writes, teaches, and collaborates on the relationship between emotions and effective climate advocacy, as well as other environmental issues. She is the author of A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: How to Keep Your Cool on a Warming Planet, as well as another book, The Ecological Other: Environmental Exclusion in American Culture (2013) and three co-edited volumes on various environmental justice issues.
