With Molly Cate, Humanitarian Educator

The Golden Rule and other ideas about the dignity of humanity sprang forth independently throughout Asia and parts of Europe between 600 BCE and 200 BCE. The heart-broken, post-WWII philosopher Karl Jaspers called this the Axial Age. From Confucius and Lao Tse to the Upanishads and the Buddha; from the Hebrew prophets to Homer, Plato, and the rise of sacred Greek drama, we will explore Jaspers' timeline and find out why his heart was so broken. Register by March 15.

Video will be available for this class.
