Updates for Campus Hard Closure during Finals Week

Dear Students and Colleagues,

The University continues the hard closure of campus through May 12. Access to campus is restricted, and individuals are not permitted to enter or be on campus without prior authorization. Updated information is available about resources available during finals week. 

The University will hold Commencement ceremonies at three off-campus locations on Saturday, May 11, 2024. They will take place concurrently in the Sapphire Palace at the Blue Lake Casino, the Eureka Theater, and the Eureka High School Auditorium. Each of the venues has the capacity to accommodate all of the registered graduates’ anticipated guests.

Learn about The Listening Post Collective and the ongoing partnership between Internews and Access Humboldt. Access Humboldt has been participating in the collective through a project called The Redwoods Listening Post. RLP is a local solutions based multimedia news and information initiative working to platform marginalized and guarded communities and connect them to solutions their communities need.

Monique Harper-Desir is the director of administration and development at Access Humboldt.

Access Humboldt is an innovative, self-sustaining and trusted media resource for residents of Humboldt County. Diverse community members utilize local access media resources to engage in meaningful conversations that increase participation in civic life. Local governments, educational institutions and community-based organizations find AH’s services to be indispensable. Digital media production is a growing industry that supports a continually improving quality of life. North Coast residents are among the most media literate people in the world – sharing new ideas and advanced methods to empower local voices for significant positive impact on society.
