Campus Access, Resources, and Support

April 28, 2024 - 7:39 p.m.

A hard closure of campus is now being enforced through May 10, and individuals are prohibited from entering or being on campus without permission. The safety and security of our entire campus community are at the forefront of every decision being made. Work and academic instruction will be remote and a process has been defined for authorized personnel to campus access.

Since Monday, the University’s goal has always been to bring a peaceful end to the occupation. The University continues to talk to anyone willing to have productive and respectful dialogue.

Challenges and Opportunities for Housing and Homeless Services During COVID

Darlene Spoor

Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Darlene Spoor, Executive Director, Arcata House Partnership, & Dr. Anjali Browning, Manager of Client Services, Arcata House Partnership

Monday, April 12, 2021 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

2020 brought many changes to our community; foremost among them is greater housing and food insecurity. Arcata House Partnership (AHP) continues to work with homeless people, and protect others from becoming homeless. Learn how AHP is working with local, state, and federal agencies to increase housing and homeless services during these unprecedented times.

Since 1996, Arcata House Partnership (AHP) has provided shelter and services to people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, and/or hungry. Committed to serving our most vulnerable citizens, AHP refers and connects people to its partners of over 200 agencies, cities, and towns.

Dr. Darlene Spoor has been the executive director at Arcata House Partnership since 2016. Her leadership has allowed AHP to continue to serve people with a variety of needs: mental health issues, learning disabilities, substance use concerns, special educational needs, people who were economically disadvantaged or housing insecure, people with physical challenges, people fleeing domestic violence, and the development of affordable housing. She is committed to serve the community and its most vulnerable citizens.

Dr. Anjali Browning is the manager of Client Services at Arcata House Partnership since 2018. Her experience providing services and evaluating and managing programs provides AHP with an integrative and continuous improvement model of service. Her commitment to social justice includes working as a researcher, mentor, trainer, and supervisor of client services for the agency.
