A Message to the Campus Community

May 1, 2024 - 1:47 p.m.

Dear Students and Colleagues,

As we all come to terms with the recent events on campus, it is important to recognize the emotional impact they have taken on us, individually and collectively. We want to acknowledge that this has been an extremely challenging week for Cal Poly Humboldt. We are hurting within our campus community and beyond, and we have much work in front of us to reset, rebuild, and heal. This will take time. We will do this together.

Overcoming Privilege

Brown Bag Lunch Presentation with Molly Cate, Humanitarian Educator

Monday, September 21, 2020 - 12:00pm

Acknowledging race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, different abilities, and class as sites of systemic privilege for the few at the expense of the many, Molly Cate will explore the tactics for self-education she has successfully used to overcome some of the ignorance of her privilege, focusing on the blessings of creating a sense of the oneness of the human family.

Rev. Molly Cate is a humanitarian educator passionate about history, science and bridging the barriers between people holding clashing belief systems. She has a Master's degree in consciousness studies from Holmes Institute in Santa Rosa, a Master's degree in sociology from the University of California, Davis, and several certificates in cross-cultural competence. She is principal speaker and often soloist for Unity Church of the Redwoods in Eureka, California.
