A Message to the Campus Community

May 1, 2024 - 1:47 p.m.

Dear Students and Colleagues,

As we all come to terms with the recent events on campus, it is important to recognize the emotional impact they have taken on us, individually and collectively. We want to acknowledge that this has been an extremely challenging week for Cal Poly Humboldt. We are hurting within our campus community and beyond, and we have much work in front of us to reset, rebuild, and heal. This will take time. We will do this together.

Palette of Possibilities: Discovering the Art of Painting (Ages 5-13)

31174/31175

With Baili Farris

The Studio School offers a summer filled with vibrant hues, swirling brushes, and endless inspiration! Young artists will experiment with traditional to contemporary styles of painting, while being guided by experienced instructors.

A new theme will be presented each day – and participants will explore techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, and mixed media. From capturing the beauty of nature, creating abstract masterpieces, or bringing a favorite character to life on canvas, there's something for every aspiring painter to discover.

Through hands-on activities, outdoor sessions, and interactive workshops, participants will develop artistic skills, gain confidence in their abilities, and make new friends with fellow art enthusiasts. This supportive environment will encourage creativity, individuality, and a love for the visual arts.

Baili Farris

Baili Farris graduated from Humboldt State University with a bachelor's degree in art education and studio art. She immersed herself in every artistic medium she could access. After college she found herself focusing on intertwining nature and personal connections into practices in photography, printmaking and sculpture. She hopes to bring art into everyday life, appreciating the little things, and creating art that is both eye-catching and utilitarian. Art that helps every space become imaginative. When she is not creating, she spends her time with her animals who are truly a part of her ever growing family, from her one legged duck Ponyo to her fluffiest pup Umi.
