What inspired you to pursue Leadership Studies and finish your bachelor’s degree?

I wanted to select a degree I could apply to any field, and Leadership touches every industry and every sector. I completed my degree to have more opportunities, improve my ability to provide for my family, and build my toolkit in my current role. The job market is competitive, and I knew a degree would help partner with the value I have gained in my work experience.

How did completing the Leadership Studies program impact your life?

The program gave me the confidence and skill set that led to a promotion at work and confirmed my ability to work full time while earning a degree. I started this program in January 2020, right before COVID-19, and this program gave me focus during that uncertain time. It gave me hope, and I had an amazing cohort that inspired and motivated me every day.

What do you enjoy about your current position/profession?

I have always loved media; TV, movies, music, and I have always worked in the entertainment industry. I am so fortunate to work in an organization that drives technology and innovation across multimedia, and the company supported me in continuing my education.

What are your career goals?

I am currently enrolled at USC in the OMBA program with a 2024 graduation date, and I plan to use this education to build a business plan and kick start a venture I am planning. I still work fulltime at Netflix, and truly enjoy what I do.

What is a leadership text or resource that you can’t live without?

As a leader I constantly focus on “content not control” for my team. This helps me to lead without micromanaging, giving trust to my team to make the right decisions.

Is there anything else about your story that you care to share? Anything exciting happening right now?

I just moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains with my family and I am looking forward to living in the Redwoods!
