Native American Tribal members and affiliates can advance with a B.A. in Leadership Studies.
Every semester, Cal Poly Humboldt proudly welcomes Tribal members and Tribal employees to the Leadership Studies Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program.
New cohorts begin every fall and spring.
This flexible and affordable CSU degree is offered 100% online, and caters to working adults and rural residents. Each year, we welcome Tribal members, professionals, and affiliates working for Tribes. The Leadership Studies curriculum offers exceptional professional development for aspiring leaders.
In coordination with the Cal Poly Humboldt Indian Tribal & Educational Personnel Program (ITEPP), students will be provided with culturally responsive advising and support services.
Benefits to tribal members and affiliates:
- Opportunity to take online Native American Studies (NAS) general education courses at Cal Poly Humboldt, and/or add a minor in Native American Studies
- Assistance with financial aid application and documentation for employer reimbursement (Most students graduate within two years for under $20,000.)
- Assistance with scholarship applications for Native students and letters of support
- Tribal members are invited to participate in Native Graduation Ceremony every May, in addition to the commencement ceremonies.
- Participate in activities and programming focused on Traditional Ecological Knowledge, such as book circles and speaker series.
