‌Updates for Campus Hard Closure during Finals Week

Dear Students and Colleagues,

The University continues the hard closure of campus through May 12. Access to campus is restricted, and individuals are not permitted to enter or be on campus without prior authorization. Updated information is available about resources available during finals week. 

The University will hold Commencement ceremonies at three off-campus locations on Saturday, May 11, 2024. They will take place concurrently in the Sapphire Palace at the Blue Lake Casino, the Eureka Theater, and the Eureka High School Auditorium. Each of the venues has the capacity to accommodate all of the registered graduates’ anticipated guests.

  • Brass Chamber Music Workshop since 1974

Week 1: July 14-19, 2024
Week 2: July 21-26, 2024

At Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, California USA

Brass quintetEveryday, you are assigned a chamber ensemble, music and a coach. You will rehearse from 9-11:45 a.m. (with breaks). Lunch is from noon-1 p.m. There is special master class sessions each day at 1 p.m. The ensemble meets again and rehearses from 2:15-4 p.m. (with a break). Dinner is served at 5 p.m. The program starts at 7 p.m. Freelancing is done after the program.

The next day, you are assigned a different ensemble, different music, and a different coach. Wednesday is the short day. You rehearse in the morning. The special session is at 1 p.m., and the program is at 2:15 p.m. That night is a free night. We have gone to local independent league baseball games, and there are several wonderful restaurants nearby. Some people spend the evening at the beach.
