Kerry Mayer is a professor of communication studies at College of the Redwoods. Over her nearly 30-year career in higher education, she has developed curriculum for a wide range of courses and has taught both face-to-face and online classes. In addition to her work with undergraduate students, Kerry developed and coordinates the New Faculty Mentoring Program at College of the Redwoods, a year-long program for all newly-hired, tenure-track faculty members in the Redwoods Community College District. Currently, she chairs CR's Faculty Development Committee and co-chairs CR's Professional Development Committee, which plans, delivers, and assesses professional development trainings for faculty and staff throughout the Redwoods Community College District. Kerry is an active faculty member at College of the Redwoods having served for many years on the Academic Senate, including two years as Academic Senate Co-President. Additionally, she has served in leadership positions in the CR Faculty Organization (the faculty union) as president, vice-president, and grievance officer. Kerry has presented her work on faculty mentoring and professional development at professional conferences throughout the U.S.
