This Yoga class is for beginners. The focus will be on balance and strength. Mindfulness of the breath and alignment and movement of your body will enhance this process. There will also be plenty of stretching for flexibility and relaxation. The yoga postures will be done standing or sitting. Chairs will be provided or you can bring your own pillow to sit on. Individual needs will be addressed. Limits and capacities will be honored and celebrated!

Patricia Starr began teaching Yoga in our community in 1989. She trained in Iyengar Yoga and Integrative Yoga Therapy. Her training in mindfulness and meditation began in 1995 with Thich Nhat Hahn and Pema Chodron. She is currently studying and practicing mindfulness and meditation with Norman Fischer of Everyday Zen and with Gene Bush of Santa Cruz and Arcata Zen Group.
