Celebrating 45 years of musical theatre in Humboldt County HLOC invites you to a back stage look at the family musical, “Wizard of Oz.” See how Dorothy rides the twister to the merry ol’ of land of Oz, the magic of the melting witch, and the 100+ costume designs for the rich tapestry of characters. Learn about Oz writer L. Frank Baum and discover more about the iconic 1939 film we saw as youngsters. Get a tour of the backstage at Van Duzer Theatre with a special look at the flying effects. A ticket for the evening performance is included.

Carol Ryder is the artistic producing director for Humboldt Light Opera Company and a private voice teacher. She taught voice and choir among other topics in both the Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods music departments for over 20 years.
