Gabrielle Gopinath

Critic and art historian Gabrielle Gopinath writes about contemporary art, place and culture. Her essays have appeared in Art Practical, San Francisco Art Quarterly, the Oxford Art Journal, Contemporaneity, and the Quarterly Review of Film and Video. She received a Ph.D. in the history of art from Yale University and has served on the faculties of institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame. She writes arts criticism with a focus on northern California for the North Coast Journal.
