Poetry in the Lyrics of Five More Women Singer-Songwriters

With Bonnie Shand, Poet

Read and listen to the words of these songwriters as poetry: Buffy Sainte-Marie, Patti Smith, Ferron, Rickie Lee Jones, and Rhiannon Giddens. We will discuss how their skill as writers has enhanced their fame as musicians and consider any differences between writing a song and a poem.

For classes being offered on campus M-F, and if you are an OLLI member, a parking permit is included in your class fee. Please allow yourself enough time to get your parking permit and to get to the classroom to arrive on time. See campus map. Visitors and guests to campus/OLLI classes must be either fully vaccinated or have tested negative within 72 hours of coming to campus.
