With Jerry Rohde
Humboldt County has been depicted on thousands of postcards. We'll use a few dozen of these images to delve into the stories behind the scenery, learning about such locations as Old Town Eureka, Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and downtown Orick. You'd be surprised how many pictures are worth more than a thousand words. We'll look at old-time logging along the Mad River, the wool-covered lawn mowers at the Benbow Inn, the steamships that once docked at Eureka, and other scenes fanciful and fascinating. Don't wait for the mail to deliver a Humboldt postcard--collect dozens of them in this OLLI class.
