An Introduction to Electric Cars

43835

With Mike Turek

Electric cars have been around since the early 1900s and have become increasingly popular today. The class will include a brief history of electric cars. We will discuss the reasons for their increasing popularity and a discussion of the recent advances in battery and motor technology. We will also discuss charging networks, full electric vehicles versus plug-in hybrids and how practical electric cars really are. Mike has owned and operated electric cars for over three years, a 2017 Chevy Volt and a 2019 Tesla Model 3. We invite owners of electric cars, plug-in hybrids and full electric cars, to join in the discussion, share their experiences and bring their cars to the class.
