Hard Rock Gold Mining: An Almost Forgotten Industry

27230

With Ray Hillman

Goldmining is more than just a pick, shovel and gold pan. There is far more to it. There were two widely different methods practiced throughout California: placer mining and hard rock mining. In this class, these industries will be brought to life. You'll learn prospecting methods, the heavy machinery used at mines and mills, environmental impacts, the history of famous mines, and more -- including some in Humboldt County.
