With Lindsay Kessner, Artist

Create pencil and pastel drawings inspired by works of poetry. Participants will be guided through a set of prompts and exercises to make drawings in response to excerpts from poetry. The first week we will work in black and white and then move on to color. No art experience or special materials are required.

Lindsay (L.L.) Kessner

Lindsay (L.L.) Kessner is an artist who combines experiences with landscapes, mythology, and science into enigmatic paintings and drawings. For a decade prior to moving to Humboldt to teach at College  of the Redwoods, she maintained a studio in downtown Los Angeles and taught at several area institutions. Kessner earned her MFA from ArtCenter College of Design, and completed bachelor’s degrees in visual art and in a comparative philosophy program called Fundamentals: Issues and Texts at The University of Chicago.
