Summer Session Fee Waiver FAQ

Who is eligible for the Student Success Accelerator Fee Waiver in Summer 2022?

Matriculated undergraduate students who are enrolled in a degree seeking program are eligible. Their academic plan program code would be either UDF (Undergrad - Aid Eligible) or UEF (Extended Education Undergrad - Aid Eligible). Please note students that have already obtained a bachelor's degree are NOT included (as they are NOT programmed as UDF or UEF).

If a student is graduating in Spring 2022, they are not eligible for the fee waiver.

What if I am graduating in Summer 2022 (August)?

You are eligible for the fee waiver before you graduate.

Do I have to enroll in two classes to receive Student Success Accelerator Fee Waiver?

No. You can enroll in one class and still receive the fee waiver.

What if I am a continuing student, but I did not attend in spring 2022 (Ex: Stop Out)?

If you are an active student with an enrollment date for Fall 2022, you are also eligible for Summer 2022 enrollment.

If you do not have an enrollment date for Fall 2022, please work with your advisor or the Office of the Registrar to determine if you are in active or inactive standing as an undergraduate student.

What if I withdrew from all classes in Spring 2022?

If you are still an active student with an enrollment date for Fall 2022, you are also eligible for Summer 2022 enrollment even if you withdrew from the spring 2022 semester.

If you do not have an enrollment date for Fall 2022, please work with your advisor or the Office of the Registrar to determine if you are in active or inactive standing as an undergraduate student.

What if I am on educational leave?

If your educational leave expired in Summer 2022, please check to see if you are an active student with an enrollment date for Fall 2022. If you have an enrollment date, you are also eligible for Summer 2022 enrollment.

If your educational leave has not yet expired, you can enroll for Summer 2022 and take advantage of the Student Success Accelerator Fee Waiver.

If you're not sure about the status of your Educational Leave, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

What if I am on academic probation or reinstatement out of Spring 2022?

As a current student, you are eligible for the fee waiver even if one or more of your GPAs (Term, Humboldt, or Cumulative) are below 2.0.

Please speak with your academic advisor or the Academic and Career Advising Center about your individual situation. Summer session is considered an academic term for GPA purposes and will factor into your academic standing at Cal Poly Humboldt.

What if I am disqualified from Humboldt?

You would not be eligible for the fee waiver in Summer 2022.

What if I am repeating/retaking a class in the summer session? Can I still receive the fee waiver?

Yes. Please review Cal Poly Humboldt's policies for grade forgiveness and repeat limits and check with your academic advisor about your plans.

Am I eligible for the fee waiver if I already have a bachelor’s degree and I am pursuing a second?

No. Only matriculated undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree are eligible for the fee waiver. Students seeking a second bachelor’s degree are able to register for summer session courses at the regular summer session course fee of $289/unit.

What if I receive a summer Pell Grant?

Please contact Humboldt's Financial Aid office or your financial aid counselor for any questions about the summer Pell Grant. There is also more information at the Financial Aid website.

Can I still accept Student Loans if I get this fee waiver?

Please contact Humboldt's Financial Aid office or your financial aid counselor for any questions about student loans.

If I take a class in optional Credit/No Credit grade mode, can I still get the fee waiver?

Yes. Please review Cal Poly Humboldt's policies for Credit Limitations and check with your academic advisor about your plans.

For instance, No more than 24 semester units of credit/no credit (mandatory and/or optional) mode courses taken at Cal Poly Humboldt will be counted toward the bachelor's degree. Courses used to fulfill major requirements may not be taken on an optional credit/no credit basis. Students may take only one optional CR/NC course per semester at Cal Poly Humboldt. See Grades & Academic Standing to learn more about grade modes.

What happens if I do not pass a class that was covered by the fee waiver?

The fee waiver stands no matter what grade you receive; however summer session is considered an academic term for GPA purposes and will factor into your academic standing at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Please speak with your academic advisor or the Academic and Career Advising Center about your individual situation.

How do I drop a class?
