Intro to Illustrator: Digitize Your Doodles

With Julia Heatherwick

Transform your doodles to a product for profit. In this introductory Adobe Illustrator project-based class, take an original, hand-drawn doodle, digitize it, and upload it to an online store. Adobe Illustrator is a complex and wondrous tool, but you don’t have to know everything about it to create products to sell. We will cover a few basic functions, so you can start creating and making right away. Over the course of the class, you will: Discuss what makes a good t-shirt or product design, Create a new line drawing or refine a current sketch, Digitize it in Illustrator, Create an online marketplace account to sell your original designs, Upload your new design and start selling it on apparel and home decor.

Please bring a sketchbook, a black felt-tip pen, and initial sketches you may want to use for your final project.

This Extended Education course has been suspended based on HSU guidelines regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The College of Extended Education & Global Engagement anticipates rescheduling the course to a later late.

Please e-mail Extended Education about your interest in the class to get notified of the rescheduling.
