In this introduction to coding summer workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn the basic concepts and skills associated with computer languages.

Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on projects to think creatively, problem solve, and work collaboratively.

This instructor is also teaching Coding for Beginners: Ecology Focus (ages 18+).

Dr. Catalina Cuellar Gempeler is a Cal Poly Humboldt assistant professor of biological sciences, specializing in microbial community ecology. Course teachings include Microbial Ecology, General Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Marine Microbiology, and SCI 100. She is a certified instructor through Software Carpentry (softwarecarpentry.org).
