With Annakatrin Burnham
This course is an introduction to hand-building the figure in clay.
We will study the human body and possibilities for its representation in clay. An orientation in forming skills associated with the ceramic medium and the many approaches to sculpting the human figure will be presented.
The class will include modeling from life, power-point presentations, video presentations, demonstrations, and a critique.
The course includes three focal points, each addressing a different technique: modeling the figure from life, engaging patterns and slabs, and the use of armatures.
