  • Access Humboldt is a non-profit, community media organization serving the residents of Humboldt County. It provides air time free of charge on the local cable TV channels and online, and offer media production training, facilities and equipment. It promotes free speech and community media - by the people; for the people. Programming is accepted on a fair and nondiscriminatory basis, and will be aired without editorial control.
  • Aligning Forces Humboldt is an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to transform health and health care in Humboldt County. The California Center for Rural Policy is the lead agency and it works in close partnership with the Humboldt-Del Norte Independent Practice Association, St Joseph Health System and a large collaborative of key health care stakeholders, consumers, and consumer advocates. The Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) Initiative aims to improve patient-centered, equitable and high-quality care to all throughout Humboldt County.
  • Area 1 Agency on Aging (A1AA) plans, coordinates, develops and delivers a range of senior, information, volunteer, caregiver and advocacy services in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, California.
  • Boomer Troupe & the Humboldt Light Opera CompanyHumboldt Light Opera Company (HLOC) created the Boomer Troupe, which gives people over the age of 50 the opportunity to join others for a positive performance experience.
  • Breast and Gyn Health Project - A Cancer Resource Center (formerly Humboldt Community Breast Health Project) is a community resource of support and education for those facing a breast or gynecologic cancer concern. Services include a patient navigation program, support groups, information specialists, warmline volunteers, an extensive resource library, and more.
  • Bureau of Land Management: Arcata Field Office is responsible for the administration of natural resources, lands, and mineral programs on approximately 200,000 acres of public land in Northwestern California. The Area includes the 60,000 acre King Range National Conservation Area and the 7,472 acre Headwaters Forest Reserve.
  • CenterArts offers diverse world-class performing arts events that feature music, dance and theater, on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt.
  • Clarke Museum is in Old Town Eureka. Exhibits feature the history of Humboldt County, with emphasis on the late 1800s. Displays include furniture, glassware, clothing, and more.
  • Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre offers actor training programs, touring productions, a summer festival, education programs in local schools, and work in economic/community development. It is based in Blue Lake, Calif.
  • Eel River Multi-Generational Center in Fortuna is where people of all ages can come together at one place to participate in classes, programs and activities.
  • Eureka High School is the largest high school in Humboldt County. EHS is recognized throughout the nation as a California Distinguished High School.
  • The Eureka Symphony is composed of community members -- including teachers, doctors, professors, retirees, students, and more -- from across Humboldt Bay area.  Each year the group performs a wide range of contemporary and classical compositions with appeal to all ages.
  • Ferndale Museum is an historical and educational museum which fosters an appreciation and understanding of the culture and heritage of Ferndale, the lower Eel River Valley and the area as far south as the Mattole River Valley.
  • Ferndale Senior Resource Center serves the needs of seniors and disabled 62 years and older who live in the 95536 zip code.
  • Ferndale Repertory Theatre is the oldest and largest of the North Coast’s resident community theatres, started in 1972. FRT produces six main stage shows a year, plus special music and film events.
  • Forever Humboldt: Humboldt Association is bigger than an alumni association -– it's the association of all Humboldt alumni, students, parents and families, faculty, and staff. 
  • Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) provides educational support for the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. FOAM educates the public about wetlands, wildlife, wastewater treatment, and the benefits of wastewater in wetlands.
  • Friends of the Dunes (FOD) has been involved in the conservation of coastal environment, including ecosystem restoration, education programs, and guided walks. FOD is also a coastal dunes land trust.
  • Garberville Civic Club is located at 477 Maple Lane in Garberville.
  • Green Diamond Resource Company is a forest products company that owns and manages working forest land in California, Oregon, and Washington.
  • Humboldt Area Foundation serves as an independent staging ground for residents, individually and in concert, to build social, economic and environmental prosperity in the Redwood, Trinity and Wild Rivers Region.
  • Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge/U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service protects and enhances wetlands and bay habitats for migratory birds, especially black brant, and to protect endangered species and their habitats, including the Humboldt Bay wallflower.
  • Humboldt Baykeeper seeks to safeguard local coastal resources for the health, enjoyment and economic strength of the Humboldt Bay community through education, scientific research, and enforcement of laws to fight pollution.
  • Humboldt Botanical Garden is constructed on a 44.5-acre site south of Eureka near the Humboldt Bay adjacent to the College of the Redwoods.  
  • Humboldt County Historical Society furthers an understanding and appreciation of all peoples, places, events and activities of Humboldt County and related areas.
  • Humboldt County Library provides resources and opportunities to support lifelong learning, local heritage, and the cultural, recreational, and information needs of our communities.

  • Humboldt Crabs Baseball was founded in 1945, and is the oldest continuously-operated summer collegiate, wood-bat, baseball team in the country. The team based in Arcata, Calif.
  • Humboldt Senior Resource Center is committed to providing services, information, education and recreation for seniors, families and caregivers in Humboldt County.

  • KEET TV 13 Public Television educates and enriches the community by providing informative, entertaining programs and innovative outreach, creating public dialogue on local and global issues, and building vital community partnerships. Local KEET productions are created in partnership with community members to reflect a variety of topics, resources and reasons to celebrate the flavor, beauty and innovation on the North Coast.
  • KHumboldt Public Radio is the NPR-affiliated public radio station of Cal Poly Humboldt.
  • McKinleyville Union School District is committed to families living and learning on the North Coast in McKinleyville.
  • Morris Graves Museum of Art/Humboldt Arts Council
  • National Weather Service Forecast Office: Eureka provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for Eureka and surrounding areas. Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) contains an ancient coast redwood ecosystem, open prairie lands, two major rivers, and 37 miles of California coastline.
  • North Coast Audiology: Dr. Julie Kelly is a locally owned and operated hearing healthcare practice offering diagnostic and aural rehabilitative services.
  • North Coast Co-Op is a member-owned organization guided by the cooperative principles. As a leader in the community, it emphasizes a diverse selection of products while engaging members through consumer education, community building, and environmental responsibility.
  • Northcoast Regional Land Trust is a nonprofit organization with a focus of protecting land and water on nearly five million acres on California’s North Coast encompassing Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. 
  • Pierson Building Center is Humboldt County's premier hardware and building supply center in Eureka. 
  • Redwood Acres is a thriving community resource within Humboldt County. Bustling with wholesome family fun, unique opportunities, events, and positive local growth, it remains firmly rooted to its founding purpose and is extremely active in the “real-time” agriculture of today; whether it involves farming, livestock, fisheries, healthy land management, or as an ever valuable resource for agricultural education and classes of all types.
  • Redwood Coast Music Festivals was founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support area programs that benefit seniors. The Redwood Coast Jazz Festival was created as an event whose proceeds would help to accomplish this goal. A second event, Blues by the Bay, was added in 1996.
  • Redwood Curtain Theater presents contemporary and classic plays in Eureka.
  • Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) is home to the tallest trees on Earth. The parks also protect vast prairies, oak woodlands, wild riverways, and nearly 40 miles of rugged coastline. For thousands of years, people have lived in this verdant landscape. Together, the National Park Service and California State Parks are managing and restoring these lands for the inspiration, enjoyment, and education of all.
  • Senior Action Coalition is a nonpartisan, grassroots group of older adults in Humboldt County committed to working to address the concerns of seniors in our communities, take action regarding pressing challenges, and strengthen the voice of older adults in community decision making.
  • Senior News is a monthly newspaper that has been published by the Humboldt Senior Resource Center for over 30 years, and tells stories of local seniors and local issues of importance to seniors, their families and caregivers.
  • Sequoia Park Zoo was established in 1907 in Eureka, Calif., and is the oldest zoo in the state. It is also one of the smallest accredited zoos in the country.
  • Six Rivers National Forest lies east of Redwood State and National Parks in northwestern California, and stretches southward from the Oregon border for about 140 miles. It encompasses 957,590 National Forest acres and 133,410 acres of other ownership. Smith River National Recreation Area and Orleans, Lower Trinity, and Mad River Ranger Districts make up the Forest.

  • Sunny Brae Performing Arts Center for Education (The S.P.A.C.E.) at 92 Sunny Brae Center, Arcata, is managed by the Humboldt Light Opera Company. The SPACE offers two large classrooms/rehearsal halls, a lobby and office, as well as storage space for sets and costumes, and a sewing area. [OLLI at Humboldt has been offering classes at the S.P.A.C.E. since it opened.]
  • Timber Ridge Assisted LivingThe Timber Ridge community is designed to help every person feel at home. Home is where you’re free to be who you are; it’s where a community of caregivers and friends welcome you with open arms.
  • Trinidad Library Sustaining Fund & Trinidad LibraryIn 2013, through generous contributions from private donors, the community of Trinidad completed its beautiful new library building. The Trinidad Library Sustaining Fund supports this building and its multiple uses. One of its goals is to provide educational activities for local residents during days when the library is not open for regular services. OLLI at Humboldt has been an essential partner in coordinating academic instruction here. This partnership has resulted in hundreds of OLLI students being able to access quality courses in the northern part of Humboldt County. Instructors enjoy the facility for its inviting atmosphere with media services available in an intimate classroom setting. Some Trinidad-inspired courses such as "Natural History of Humboldt County" have been so popular, that there are waiting lists for enrollment with students from all over the county.
  • Trinidad Museum Society collects, preserves, and interprets material and information illustrative of the human and natural heritage of California's north coast and by increasing public awareness, appreciation and understanding of the diverse cultural and natural history of the Trinidad region through collections, exhibits, events and educational activities.
  • U.S. Coast Guard: McKinleyville and Humboldt Bay
  • Vector Physical Therapy & Aquatics Center, established in 1979, is a non-profit, outpatient, physical therapy rehabilitation clinic offering traditional land-based therapy as well as aqua physical therapy. It owns and operates the area's only 92-degree warm water pool.
  • Westhaven Center for the Arts is a non-profit gallery and grassroots community center on the hillside above Moonstone Beach, dedicated to supporting local artists and facilitating community involvement. Funded by members, donations, and volunteers, the WCA was founded in 2001.
