Philosopher Karl Jaspers introduced the idea of an axial age, an axis in time when major shifts in thinking occurred independently throughout Asia and parts of Europe. Explore how these new ideas from Confucius, Lao Tse, Buddha, the Upanishads, Homer, Plato and more, shaped the world we know.

Rev. Molly Cate

Rev. Molly Cate is principal speaker and often soloist for Unity Church of the Redwoods in Eureka. She has a master’s degree in consciousness studies from Holmes Institute School of Consciousness Studies in Santa Rosa, one in sociology from the University of California, Davis, and several certificates in cross-cultural competence. She is passionate about science and bridging the barriers between people holding clashing belief systems.
